ROXAS City — The city government here may purchase a garbage truck that will exclusively serve the Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center.
It may address the garbage problem that has been badgering the public market, said Carmen Andrade, economic affairs consultant.
Andrade said they plan to get the money from the city government’s P2-million market fund.
She clarified, however, that the purchase of a new garbage truck will be a last resort, as they were still trying to fix an old one and a garbage shredder.
She said the market fund was originally intended for the repair of the public market; its use will depend on Mayor Angel Alan Celino.
Meanwhile, Andrade announced that the city has received 80 percent of its P3.3-million Recovery Assistance on Yolanda (RAY) fund from the Department of Interior and Local Government.
Only a portion of the fund was given because the city has yet to comply with several programs of work, she pointed out.
She said the repair of Teodoro Arcenas Trade Center’s roofing, which was damaged by super typhoon “Yolanda,” started yesterday; the needed new long-span roofs were delivered on Thursday./PN
