ILOILO City – A 61-year-old father is the subject of a police manhunt. He shot his mentally-ill son in Barangay Consolacion, San Miguel, Iloilo.
As of this writing, the whereabouts of Mario Alcubilla remained unknown. Thursday night last week, he fled. His 21-year-old son Marcelo died of a gunshot wound.
The shooting happened around 8 p.m. at the Alcubilla house, according to Senior Police Officer 2 Jose Remus Cabag.
Marcelo was unruly and couldn’t be pacified, added Cabag.
“The suspect feared his son would harm neighbors,” said the police officer.
Marcelo died of a gunshot wound on the chest.
“We’ve talked to the family and relatives. They’re not interested in filing a complaint against Mario,” said Cabag./PN
