BACOLOD City – A resident of Talisay City, Negros Occidental was arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer.
The 32-year-old Rey Villarin was in the custody of the Talisay police.
Senior Police Officer 2 Melinda Taganile was driving a car on Sunday in Barangay Matab-ang, Talisay City and about to make a U-turn but was unable to with Villarin’s tricycle blocking the road.
A confrontation ensued between Taganile and Villarin. After which, Villarin drove his tricycle but hit the police officer, causing the latter severe pain and hematoma on her left leg and left arm.
Villarin was facing a charge for direct assault upon a person in authority./PN
