ILOILO – A 24-year-old man was arrested in an anti-drug buy-bust operation in Sitio Lanag, Barangay PD Monfort North, Dumangas around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
Suspect Jepster Bonillo of Barangay Naslo, Pototan, Iloilo sold to a police posuer buyer a sachet of suspected shabu for P22,000.
The Station Drug Enforcement Team recovered a total of eight sachets weighing more or less 50 grams with a standard drug price of P340,000.
“Right now, mabutang pa lang siya sa street-level (category of drug suspect) kag newly-identified,” said Dumangas Municipal Police Station chief Major Kenn Albert P. Lepsia.
The police chief also said Bonillo was involved in a series of carnapping incidents in Pototan town, and his alleged accomplice was also recently arrested in a buy-bust operation.
“In these series of incidents ang pangalan niya naggwa. Syempre we have to do compartmentalizing; kung sino ang tawo nga ini, ang specifics,” Lepsia added.
The suspect, now in the custody of the Dumangas police, faces charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
