BEYOND the crown and the spotlight, Macy Alaine Albarico hopes to make her reign count for something bigger.
The 24-year-old youth leader and environmental advocate from Bago City, Negros Occidental, was crowned Miss Bacolod MassKara 2026 after representing Barangay Singcang-Airport and besting 14 candidates.

A Sangguniang Kabataan councilor and business process outsourcing agent, Albarico hopes to use her title to promote coastal conservation, responsible waste management and greater opportunities for young people.
During the final question-and-answer round, she emphasized the need to open more doors for Bacolodnons through jobs, seminars and access to information.
For Albarico, the crown is more than a personal triumph. Crediting her family, glam team and community, she declared: โThe crown would not be mine alone, rather it is our crown.โ
Moreover, Julie Mikayla A. Borja of Barangay Mansilingan was named first runner-up, while Ma. Zonora Ellyssa Curaza of Barangay Sum-ag secured the second runner-up title. Rounding out the Top 5 were Kyla C. Aligaga of Barangay Pahanocoy and Daniella Louisse B. Merelos of Barangay 32.
In a festival celebrating resilience and community pride, her victory carries a message: true beauty shines brightest when it inspires others./PN
