EARLIER this year, Chevrolet reintroduced the Blazer to the United States auto scene as a run-and-gun crossover. Its aggressive exterior design and sleek styling cues made it a vehicle with considerable presence and its availability with a 3.6-liter V6 engine only added to its appeal.
Now, the American car manufacturer has made the decision to bring the Blazer to China – albeit with a couple of alterations to better appeal to the local market: a longer wheelbase and an extra row in the rear.
Reports online indicate that this three-row version will carry the “Blazer XL” moniker. Spy shots have been circulating for a considerable while now, but the vehicle will finally be out in the open when it makes its debut at the 2019 Chevrolet Gala Night in Hefei, China, later this week.
The larger Chevrolet Blazer will be available in China in both RS and Redline trim, and will be sold alongside the Equinox midsize SUV, the Trailblazer compact SUV, and the Tracker small SUV. China is the brand’s second-largest market.
No further details – engine specs or features – have been made available, but expect all to be revealed when the vehicle rolls out of the shadows in a couple of days. Do you think this offering will find success in the People’s Republic? (Topgear.ph)
