The 2018 June Poem-a-thon with Peter Solis Nery.
Wow! That’s a chance of a lifetime.
And it is for free!
It’s a journey. But you know you can always make it a fun journey if you give your heart to it.
I cannot carry the workshop alone.

I will try to make it fun, exciting, interesting. Promise!
But you gotta help me.
You should be there to share your best self, your best efforts.
Not there to bring me down.
Not there to only see if I would fail.
Because what if I don’t fail?
You would have wasted your time!

If you join the workshop, I want you to help me succeed.
I want you to pick me up when I fall.
I will try not to fail, not to fall. I will try my best.
I may not even need your help after all.
But I want you to commit to help me just in case.
Thirty days is pretty long.
I might need some cheering up along the way.
I’ll try not to rely on you for it.

Thirty days can change a person. A life.
I know. I’m a nurse. I’m a teacher. I’m a writer. I’m a reader.
A nurse can save your life in a single eight-hour shift.
A teacher can change your life forever in a single meeting.
A writer can change your view of the world.
A book can give you hope and inspiration.
I want to be all of these for you.
I mean, that’s what I mean when I say, I am god.

Here’s more: Just now, I have this exciting idea of tying up this poem-a-thon to the 2018 Peter’s Prize for Excellence in Writing.
I’m still protective of the Hiligaynon writing contests of the Peter Solis Nery Foundation, sponsor to the Peter’s Prize, because there are not many writing contests for Hiligaynon.

So, writers in Filipino and English, you may have to excuse and forgive me.
I mean, you have tons of contests and opportunities in English and Filipino languages, nationally and even internationally.
But only The Peter’s Prize of The Peter Solis Nery Foundation concentrates on, and is dedicated to, Hiligaynon writing.

Okay, writing this idea out really clarifies it for me.
It’s now a decision: Only Hiligaynon outputs in the poem-a-thon workshop will be eligible to the 2018 Peter’s Prize for Poetry.
Rules of the contest will be clarified and spelled out later.
Most probably after the workshop.
Let’s do things one step at a time.
But that’s an added come on for you to join in the poem-a-thon workshop.

And believe me, when I get excited with a project, it usually ends up well.
I mean, I start with good intentions.
As soon as I focus my attention to it, I am inspired with creative things to do.

I am inspired to do my best, and outdo my last great performance.
Often, that enthusiasm is recognized by people, and I win them over.
The more people feed me with their energy and support, the stronger I work for the success of the project.
