BACOLOD City – Two residents of Barangay Alijis had been shot. Police said it was a case of accidental firing.
Jorlan Sancho and Joel Octaviano were wounded on their legs. They were taken to the hospital, according to Police Station 7.
John Demie Montrada, a security guard of Regent Pearl Homes Subdivision in Barangay Alijis, accidentally discharged his service firearm, a .9mm pistol, and hit the locals as a result, police said.
The incident happened at around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, police said.
Montrada was nevertheless detained at Police Station 7.
His .9mm pistol loaded with six live bullets was seized. An empty shell was recovered from the site where the victims were hit./PN
