KAYA Futbol Club-Iloilo will aim for the group stage lead when it faces Indonesia’s PSM Makassar in the 2019 AFC Cup today at the Pakansari Stadium in Cibinong, Indonesia.
Kaya-Iloilo and PSM Makassar will break the tie in their match today with both teams tied on top of Group H with four points on one victory and one draw.
Kaya-Iloilo head coach Noel Marcaida is confident that his wards can pull off their second straight victory despite facing the Indonesians on their home floor as they have figured out their opponent well.
“We prepare everything needed for our game,” Marcaida said. “Since day 1, we are excited to play AFC Cup not only to represent Kaya FC-Iloilo but also representing Philippine football in general.”
“I think we’ll be having a big challenge moving forward. But coming from the history that we have – Kaya FC played in the AFC Cup in 2016 and made the Round of 16 – we’ve come here to perform to a different level,” he added.
Spearheading the Iloilo City-based football club were new recruits in Louis Michael Casas, Tyler Matas, Darryl Roberts, Yannick Tuazon and former Philippine Azkals mainstay Simone Rota.
Also part of Kaya-Iloilo roster were Negrenses Camelo Tacusalme, Jayson Panhay, Jalsor Soriano, Janrick Soriano and Arnie Pasinabo and Ilonggos Jovin Bedic and Shirmar Felongco./PN
