CERES Negros aims to solidify its spot in the zonal semifinals when it faces Home United of Singapore in the final day of the 2018 AFC Cup group stage tonight at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City.
The Ceres Negros-Home United tussle is set to kickoff an hour earlier at 6 p.m. due to the simultaneous kickoff with the other group match of Shan United of Myanmar and Boeung Ket of Cambodia in Yangon.
The Busmen are currently on top of Group F with 13 points and can secure a zonal semifinals spot with a win over Home United.
Home United is currently at second place with 10 markers and can snatch the groupās top spot with an upset.
In their first encounter on Feb. 27 in Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore, Ceres Negros and Home United settled for a 1-1 draw on exchange of goals by Manuel Herrera and Shahril Ishak.
āWe just have to work hard and treat every game with importance. We also kinda have t forget about what we have done with (Ceres in Philippines Football League) to get our focus back and try to win our games (in AFC Cup),ā said Kevin Ingreso.
Added the Philippine Azkals mainstay: āThe game against Home United is very important. I hope we can get a good result as it will bring us closer to the next round.ā
Also part of Ceres Negros team are Bienvenido MaraƱon, Stephan Schrock, Martin Steuble, Patrick Reichelt, Jeffrey Christiaens, Louie Casas, Sean Kane, Manuel Ott, Mike Ott, Takumi Uesato, and Omid Nazari.
Meanwhile, Global Cebu hopes to end its AFC Cup campaign with a victory when it battles Bali United of Indonesia at 7 p.m. at Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium in Indonesia./PN
