BACOLOD City – He had been hiding from the police for about 16 years.
The 36-year-old Loylen Abong was caught on the strength of an arrest warrant in Barangay Punta Buri, Ajuy, Iloilo around 8:20 p.m. on July 1, police said.
Abong – resident of the village – faces frustrated murder charge he committed in Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
Police officers served the warrant issued by Judge Renato Muñez of the Regional Trial Court Branch 60 in Cadiz City dated Feb. 11, 2004.
The suspect was detained in the lockup facility of the Sagay City police station.
The court recommended a P200,000 bail bond for his temporary liberty./PN
