BACOLOD City – After hiding from authorities for about 20 years, a man charged with arson was finally arrested.
Police identified him as 50-year-old Ronaldo Serafin Deonaldo, a resident of Barangay Taba-ao in Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
He was nabbed on the strength of an arrest warrant in Barangay Budlasan, Canlaon City, Negros Oriental, a police report showed.
Joint operatives of the Police Regional Office 7’s Regional Intelligence Unit and police forces of Sagay and Canlaon staged Deonaldo’s apprehension around 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 4.
Judge Renato Muñez of the Regional Trial Court Branch 60 in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental issued the warrant dated June 20, 2001.
The suspect was taken to the Sagay City police station.
Muñez recommended a P40,000 bail for his temporary liberty./PN
