ILOILO City – Four houses were totally gutted and eight others were partially damaged when fire struck a neighborhood in Barangay Calaparan’s Zone 11, Arevalo district.
The razed houses belonged to Violeta Table, Kenneth Semaning, Evelyn Singh, Domingo Semaning, Regine Semaning, Willie Table, Mary Grace Semaning, Rhea Blanco, Richie Semaning, Jomar Semaning, Ferly Joy Belando, and Josephine Magallanes.
According to fire investigators, the blaze started around 3 p.m. yesterday in the house of Kenneth Semaning then quickly spread to nearby houses.
The blaze was believed to have been caused by a mobile phone left charging.
No person died or got injured in the fire.
Personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection declared a fire out around 4:28 p.m.
As this was being written, they have yet to determine the estimated value of the gutted properties./PN
