ROXAS City — Food packs courtesy of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) kept on coming in super typhoon “Yolanda” affected municipalities in Capiz.
“Family packs” being given out were the fulfillment of DSWD Secretary Dinky Soliman’s promise during her visit in Capiz, said Sangguniang Panlalawigan Secretary Zoe Herrera.
Each family pack contains cans of corned beef and sardines, coffee, and noodles.
Five kilos of rice were also being given to every beneficiary, Herrera said.
The distribution started in Tapaz town on June 30.
The office of Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas was in charge of the transportation, Herrera said.
In Maayon, the distribution was completed sometime in the second week of June, while in Dumalag, the distribution started July 2.
Family packs will be given out in Cuartero starting next week.
Meanwhile, Herrera said the national government, through the Department of Public Works and Highways, started giving core shelter assistance to different towns in Capiz.
The assistance was in the form of nails and galvanized iron sheets, among other construction materials./PN
