AirAsia joins Philippine mango celebration in Guimaras Island

GUIMARAS – AirAsia, the World’s Best Low Cost Carrier, was the proud airline partner of this year’s 25th Manggahan Festival in Guimaras.

Manggahan Festival is an annual event that is celebrated every May 11-22 with a street dancing cultural competition joined by different municipalities of Guimaras. This year’s festival was anchored on the theme “Bugana: Celebrating the Silver Glory of Manggahan Festival”.

Also during the Manggahan Festival, the Search for Mutya ng Guimaras was held to the delight of guests and locals alike and one contestant was awarded as Ms. AirAsia during the pageant which was held at the Guimaras Capitol Grounds.

AirAsia Philippines CEO Captain Dexter Comendador said, “We are thrilled to be part of this year’s celebration that pays tribute to one of the country’s notable and popular agri product. The Philippine mangoes especially from Guimaras are being exported around the world and as a Filipino, we feel strongly about supporting communities and enabling them to grow their businesses and connect via AirAsia’s massive network.”

AirAsia, as the official airline partner of the festival, gave away premium items and free flights to festival goers when they visited the AirAsia booth and participated in the activities.
