Yes, I can hear you and somehow expect you to say here he comes again with another clever way to condescend. You’re right it is, and I really don’t care.
The other day Miss Universe Philippines Rabiya Mateo was an “animal welfare advocate”. Now she’s dipping her hands into political comments. Make up your mind, my dear. You can’t be all of the above. Just stick to your “beauty contests”. You’re no Nelia Sancho. In fact, quite far from it.
Rabiya Mateo, in trying to be clever, just showed her comprehension deficiency. President Duterte was talking about his concern for his daughter Sara and that he does not want her to experience the pitfalls of the presidency. He was not referring to women in general.
So, if Rabiya Mateo disagrees with President Duterte not wanting daughter Sara to run for President, it can only mean one thing: that she supports Sara Duterte for President.
Some fools are quick to jump on the bandwagon and started comparing Rabiya Mateo to the late Ilongga senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago. Perhaps as both are natives of Iloilo but the resemblance stops there. Her “trying to be clever” not-well-thought-of statements does not make her anywhere near the late Ilongga senator. Please stop that nonsense! Miriam Defensor-Santiago must be spinning in her grave everytime you compare Rabiya Mateo to her.
It all seemed stage managed, as if her handlers have been feeding her their political agenda and using her as their mouthpiece, taking advantage of her newfound popularity.
A quick check of her education, political leanings or affiliation and awareness shows that she attended and graduated from Iloilo Doctors’ College (Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy) and was working at SRG Manila Review Center as a lecturer and review coordinator before winning the Miss Universe Philippines crown.
As you can see, she is not a “woke” who just woke up as her handlers are now trying to make her appear to be. Her education and employment are not the classic “woke” way to political enlightenment.
If she was an alumna of the University of the Philippines and a Mass Communications or Political Science graduate, I would understand, in fact, expect her to be doing this. But she came from a school hardly known for any political leanings and she studied to be a physical therapist, not a political activist.
Here is some piece of unsolicited advice to Rabiya Mateo – my dear, you already won as Miss Universe Philippines and all set to represent the country in the Miss Universe contest. Just focus on that. You certainly do not need to be controversial and be talked about on something that you are not.
It is already given that you are a “fashion victim”. Do you want to add “airhead” to your sparse resumé? Just be relevant in an irrelevant useless beauty contest. But if you want to be a “politically correct” pundit, then by all means go ahead. Of course, you can’t be “all of the above”.

And we segue to the fact that Leni Robredo being intellectually challenged is already public knowledge, all President Duterte did was just confirm it.
By the way Leni Robredo, when someone uses your property or services, it’s called paying rent, certainly not extortion. But then again, it would be asking too much for you to know the difference.
Meanwhile, Sen. Ping Lacson shoots himself in the foot again. The Visiting Forces Agreement or VFA is not a treaty, it is just an executive agreement which was never presented and ratified by the US Congress. In fact, there is no need for the Philippine Congress to ratify it because it is not considered as a treaty by the United States.
Of course, foreign policy is exclusively under the President. I have this nagging suspicion he’s doing this on purpose, setting himself up to be on level with intellectually challenged Leni Robredo so they can partner in the coming presidential election.
Who knows, they might indeed partner up for the 2022 presidential election. This is Philippine politics where alliances are not permanent, only personal ambitions are.
