Airtight case vs Numancia slay suspects – police

KALIBO, Aklan – Justice would be served to the family of a government bank employee who was fatally shot in Numancia, Aklan, according to Colonel Ramir Perlito Perlas, Aklan  police director.

The shooting in Sitio Looban, Barangay Camanci Norte on Oct. 5 was a cold-blooded murder, he said.

“Hindi pasok sa category ng riding-in-tandem ang insidente. Planado ang pagbaril, binantayan nila ang biktima. Na-pattern nila, alam nila ang movements ng biktima,” Perlas stressed in a radio interview on Oct. 12.

The victim was Jonalyn Arcenio Maribojo, 41, of Barangay Camanci Norte, Numancia. She was inside a parked tricycle near a water refilling station when shot from behind at close range around 8 a.m.

The gunman then walked toward a waiting motorcycle and left.

The motorcycle was later found around 300 meters away from the crime scene.

Maribojo succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds on the body and head while being treated in a local hospital in Kalibo, Aklan.

Perlas declined to identify persons of interest or suspects but said the police has an airtight case.

May lead na tayong sinusundan…mga professional or hired killers ang bumaril sa biktima,” he said.

Police recovered spent bullet shells of a .45 firearm from the crime scene.

“Ang mga suspects ay hindi taga-Camanci. There is no political motive in the cold-blooded murder,” Perlas added./PN
