Ajuy council bet shoots to death 2 bros

ILOILO – A candidate for councilor in Ajuy town is being hunted by policemen. He is a suspect in the shooting of two brothers in Barangay Pili, Ajuy on Wednesday night.

The brothers died.

The suspect was 50-year-old Ronald Causing while the fatalities were Edmon Articulo, 36, and his brother Ramon, 22. All three were residents of Barangay Pili.

According to Police Lieutenant Danilo Noca, Ajuy police chief, the shooting happened around 7:55 p.m.

Ramon, who was at a store in front of Causing’s house, reportedly shouted, “Sige kapapili councilor, indi ka man magdaog.”
An incensed Causing shot him on the chest, police said.

Edmon saw what happened and tried to help his brother. He, too, was shot, according to the police.

Edmon had gunshot wounds on the buttocks, three on the chest, three on the thighs, and nine on the feet.

The brothers were rushed to the Sara District Hospital where they were declared dead on arrival.

Causing’s whereabouts were unknown as of press time.

Madugay na nga wala sila ga intendihanay. Ang isa kag isa naga pa-record sa barangay nga gapanghangkat inaway. Amo ina nga nag-abotanay gid sila,” Noca said.

Their misunderstanding reportedly started in 2019.

The police of Ajuy was coordinating with Causing’s family for his surrender.

Ajuy’s Mayor Jett Rojas said the town remained peaceful. The Pili shooting was “isolated”, he said.

He said Causing, an independent candidate, was a son of a former vice mayor.

“If he wants to surrender, he can call me. We will help facilitate it,” Rojas said./PN
