AKLAN – Governor Florencio Miraflores allowed the operation of licensed cockpits in this province.
Based on the Executive Order (EO) No. 039 issued by Miraflores, resumption of cockpit operations is subject to health and safety protocols and implementing guidelines on the operation of cockpits by the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
Under the said guidelines, audience will not be allowed at the cockpits, while online or remote betting and broadcasting are strictly prohibited.
The governor added that despite his EO allowing cockfighting activities in the province, the local government units still have the final decision on whether such operations of licensed cockpits can proceed in their respective localities./PN
