AKLAN – An acting police director has been named by the Philippine National Police for the Aklan Police Provincial Office (Aklan PPO).
Police Colonel Crisaleo Roleda Tolentino took over after the mandatory retirement of then provincial police director Colonel Ramir Perlito Perlas on Dec. 3.
“To my men, I will be your servant leader, mentor and partner to the progress and betterment of Aklanons,” said Tolentino.
He has been in law enforcement for 25 years since graduating from the Philippine National Police Academy in 1996. He belonged to Class Kaagapay.
“I am honored to serve the province of Aklan. I will be passionate in doing my job,” Tolentino said during a press conference at Camp Pastor Martelino in Kalibo, Aklan on Dec. 8.
He had stints at the Presidential Security Group and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group between 1997 and 2007.
In 2007, Tolentino served the Police Security and Protection Group for Regions 6, 7 and 8.
A a resident of Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, he served as chief of police there in 2009 prior to his assignment as SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) commander and chief of operations of the Mandaue City police station.
Tolentino had also served Siquijor province as deputy police provincial director for operations and later as deputy director for administration.
In 2017, he was assigned to the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office Force Mobile Company.
He was promoted to the rank of colonel in May 2019 during his stint as chief of the Investigation Branch, Aviation Security Group in Region 7.
He later worked as regional chief of the Aviation Security Group in Region 7 before his Western Visayas deployment.
Tolentino had also served as chief of the Regional Personnel Record and Management Division of the Police Regional Office 7 in Cebu City.
The new Aklan PPO top cop had also been the chief of the Administrative Resource and Management Division of the Directorate for Integrated Police Operations (DIPO-Visayas)./PN
