KALIBO, Aklan – The health care capacity system of the province of Aklan remains low due to the declining number of Covid-19 patients. Aklan is also at a minimal risk case of Covid infections, according to the Department of Health Center for Health Development.

In terms of growth rate, cases are also declining by minus 40 percent from 25 cases in the previous two weeks of February 25 to March 10, down to 15 infections for March 11 to 24.

The average daily attack rate is at 0.17 percent for every 100,000 individuals in Aklan in the recent two weeks from March 11 to 24, putting the province at minimal risk case classification.

The hospital care capacity rate is at 1.53 percent, the lowest among the provinces and highly-urbanized cities in the region. There were two patients admitted to the hospital.

A hospital is considered at moderate risk if its health care capacity rate is from 60 percent to less than 70 percent. A high-risk classification means the bed occupancy rate is between 70 percent to less than 85 percent.  

The positivity rate for morbidity in week 10 in Aklan is at 4.74 percent. Aklan has the lowest case fatality rate in the region at 1.60 percent. Western Visayas has a CFR of 2.99 percent as of March 27.

At least 80.37 percent or 272,501 people in the 18-59 age group already received two doses of the vaccine, while 70.46 percent or 45,530 senior citizens in Aklan have been fully vaccinated.

Only 16.64 percent or 10,751 senior citizens have been jabbed with booster shots as of March 28.

At least 81.42 percent or 55,596 individuals between 12 to 17 years old were fully vaccinated, while 6.90 percent or 5,817 kids, aged 5 to 11, had their two shots of Covid-19 vaccines./PN
