Aklan hospital care utilization rate at low-risk category

KALIBO, Aklan – The health care utilization rate in the province of Aklan is in the low-risk category as the case counts are declining.

The health care utilization rate is at 8.40 percent, which is the lowest in the region, according to data tracked by the Department of Health Center for Health Development.

Only four patients or 12.12 percent occupy the intensive care unit beds, while 17.14 percent of isolation beds were utilized.

The occupancy rate is considered high risk if it is over 70 percent, and moderate if between 60 percent to 69 percent.

The average daily attack rate or infected people per 100,000 populations also improved from 3.69 percent of the previous weeks (January 28 to February 10) to 0.43 percent of the recent two weeks of February 11 to 24.

The growth in cases reported minus 88 percent in the recent weeks, while the number of cases dropped from 318 (January 28 to February 10) to 37 cases for the period February 11 to 24.

At least 358 people have died in Aklan during the pandemic, which began in March 2020.

DOH-6 also noted 74.57 percent of the eligible population in Aklan had been fully vaccinated as of February 27.

Aside from Aklan, the provinces of Guimaras and Capiz, and the highly urbanized city of Bacolod were placed under Alert Level 1 from March 1 to 15./PN
