KALIBO, Aklan – This year’s Overseas Filipino Worker’s (OFW) Family Day was hosted by the province of Aklan on Nov. 30.
The main convenor of the OFW Family Day is the Overseas Worker’s Welfare Administration (OWWA) in coordination with the Provincial Government of Aklan and the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) here.
The activity was held at the Gov. Corazon L. Cabagnot Tourism and Training Center, Old Buswang, Kalibo, Aklan.
PESO-Aklan manager Vivian Ruiz-Solano said some 300 OFWs from 19 OFW Family Circles or organizations from Aklan and walk-in members joined the gathering.
Solano also said OWWA-6, headed by regional director Wilfreda Misterio, also invited members of organizations from the provinces of Capiz and Iloilo to join the activity.
To make the activity livelier, raffle tickets were distributed to the participants for a chance of OFWs and their family members to win prizes. (PIA/PN)
