AKLAN – A construction worker was found dead in his house, immersed in a pool of blood on Wednesday morning, Sept. 20, in Barangay Maloco, Ibajay town.
The victim, Benedic Garzon, a 37-year-old native of Leyte Province, succumbed to more than 30 stab wounds.
Garzon was last seen returning home after a night of drinking on Tuesday. His failure to appear for work the following day raised concerns among his coworkers.
Ibajay police chief Captain Rajiv Salvino identified personal grudge as the likely motive behind the killing.
“We are definitely looking into the possibility of a personal grudge or deep-seated anger, as evident from the severity of his stab wounds. The crime was committed just a few hours prior to the body’s discovery in the morning,” he added.
The Ibajay police has launched an investigation. It has two to three persons of interest./PN
