KALIBO, Aklan – Public schools in this province held dry runs on various distance learning modalities to identify possible glitches, issues and concerns prior to the opening of classes on Aug. 24.
More than 20 elementary and high schools in this province conducted trial runs to the learners from Aug. 3 to 6 to assess the Learning Continuity Plan for distance learning which includes modular, online, radio-based instruction, television-based instruction, and blended learning.
Laguinbanua Elementary School (Numancia) and Ibajay Central School (Ibajay West) conducted dry run for television-based instruction while Linayasan Elementary School (Altavas), Naisud Elementary School (Ibajay East), Vivo Integrated School (Tangalan), Nabas Elementary School (Nabas) and Mantiguib Elementary School (Makato) had their dry run for radio-based instruction.
Meanwhile, Rosal Elementary School (Libacao), Tabon Integrated School (Batan), Banga Elementary School (Banga), Malinao School for Philippine Craftsmen (Malinao) and Aranas Elementary School (Balete) did their trial run for modular learnin.
On the other hand, Kalibo Pilot Elementary School (Kalibo I), Regional Science High School for Region VI (Kalibo II), Lezo Integrated School (Lezo), Manocmanoc National High School (Malay), and New Washington Elementary School (New Washington) conducted their dry run for online learning while Kalibo Integrated Special Education Center (Kalibo I), Buruanga Vocational School (Buruanga), Tangalan Elementary School (Tangalan) and Madalag National High School (Madalag) held their trial run for the modified conventional approach.
Department of Education (DepEd) in Aklan assistant superintendent Jose Niro Nillasca said they are currently reproducing the modules of the pupils.
Enrollment from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in public schools in this province attained 99 percent, DepEd-Aklan’s record showed. (With a report from Akean Forum/PIA/PN)
