MANILA – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. conveyed his aspirations that the Al Isra Wal Mi’raj, commemorating the Night Journey and Ascension of the Prophet Muhammad would foster unity and resilience within the nation.
In his address, the Chief Executive highlighted the spiritual significance of this occasion, urging the faithful to embody the principles of perseverance, sacrifice, and faith.
“As you venerate this historic miracle through supplication and prayer, may its essence inspire among the Muslim faithful the value of perseverance through hardship and grief,” Marcos said.
“Let this observance also serve as a reminder that success is the reward of diligence and amity, and that sacrifice, persistence, and faith can guide us towards realizing our shared purpose in building a peaceful and progressive nation for all,” he added.
President Marcos also noted that this holiday represents the unwavering commitment and spiritual strength of Muslims in their devotion to Allah, the All-Hearing and All-Seeing.
Al Isra Wal Mi’raj is among the most esteemed events in Islam, symbolizing the miraculous ascent of the Prophet Muhammad to the heavens.
