MANILA – San Miguel-Alab Pilipinas got back on the winning track in the 2018-2019 ASEAN Basketball League after a 105-79 triumph over Zhuhai Wolf Warriors on Friday night at the Doumen Gymnasium in China.
Renaldo Balkman led the way with 19 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Bobby Ray Parks Jr. submitted 15 points for the defending champions Alab Pilipinas, which moved up to 14Ca-3.
Peter John Ramos came back from one-game absence to contribute triple-double 15 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists for the Philippine side, which bounced back from an 83-88 loss to Hong Kong Eastern Long Lions on Wednesday.
Both teams will tangle for the last time this season tonight at the Sta. Rosa Multi Purpose Sports Complex in Laguna. The Philippine squad has won its first three games against the Macau-based team.
Alab struggled early in the game and went down 19-26 midway in the second period, the Alab Pilipinas went on a huge 19-5 scoring run behind Balkman, Ramos and Parks to surge to a 49-35 halftime lead.
The lead grew further for the Philippines representative in the second half with locals Caelan Tiongson and Brandon Rosser also contributing on offense for its biggest lead at 103-72.
Mike Bell and Cory Bradford were the sole bright spots for the Wolf Warriors as they finished with 22 and 17 markers respectively. The Macau-based team dropped to 2-15 card./PN
