MANILA – San Miguel-Alab Pilipinas suffered a stinging 111-76 defeat in the hands of Thailand’s Mono Vampire at the start of the 2019-2020 ASEAN Basketball League at the Stadium 29 in Nonthaburi, Thailand.


Michael Singletary top-scored with 19 points to go with 11 rebounds and four assists on Sunday night to lead the way for the 2018 season runner ups Mono Vampire.


Moses Morgan chipped in 16 points, including four triples, while Freddie Lish, Tyler Lamb and Ryan Watkins all had 13 points for the Mono Vampire.


Singletary set the tone early for the Thailand-based squad with 11 early points for a 31-12 advantage.

The lead went as high as 38 points late in the match after a triple by Jittaphon Towaroj with 50 seconds to play.


Nick King finished with 21 points, seven rebounds, and two assists. Louie Vigil added 13 points and five rebounds while and Jordan Heading had 12 points and six boards for Alab Pilipinas.


Fil-Am guard Jason Brickman, playing for the first time against his former team Mono Vampire, went scoreless and could only collect four assists and two rebounds for the Philippine team.
