BACOLOD City – Area 8’s Kiana Marie Alagaban showed her dominance by taking home six gold medals in the rhythmic gymnastics event of the Negros Provincial Meet 2019 here.
Alagaban, a standout from Bacolod Tay Tung High School, took home six gold medals in the secondary girls rope, ball, clubs, ribbon, individual all-around and team events.
Alagaban said she was thankful to be given another opportunity to represent Negros Occidental in the WVRAA Meet as she is still unsure to join the Provincial Meet next year.
“I still do not know if I will still play in Provincial Meet next year,” Alagaban said. “I will be moving up to senior category next year so my focus will be on entering the national team.”
Fellow Area 8 gymnast Ella Jamelo and Althea Descutido settled for silver and bronze medal finishes in the individual all around.
In the elementary category, Matthea Efenio came up with gold medals in ball, rope, individual all-around and team event while she settled for silver medal in the free hand. Bianca Celis nabbed the silver in individual all around./PN
