‘Albee’ newest House billionaire

BACOLOD City – Negros Occidental 3rd District representative Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez remains to be among the richest members of the House of Representatives, based on his 2017 statement of assets, liabilities and net worth.

Benitez maintained his No. 3 spot from last year but now with a net worth reaching over a billion – P1,004,995,616.

In 2016, Benitez’s net worth totaled to P942.96 million, higher compared to his 2015 net worth of P880.017 million.

Benitez, being one of the top 10 richest House members in 2017, has assets worth P1,133,238,863 and liabilities worth P128,243,247.

The other House members who made it to the top 11 were Rep. Michael Odylon Romero (1-Pacman party-list) with P7.291 billion, Rep. Emmeline Aglipay-Villar (Diwa party-list) with P1.4 billion, Rep. Imelda Marcos (2nd District, Ilocos Norte) with P920.8 million, Rep. Feliciano Belmonte Jr. (4th District, Quezon City) with P861 million, Rep. Virgilio Lacson (Manila Teachers party-list) with P791.6 million, Rep. Bayani Fernando (1st District, Marikina City) with P739 million,  Rep. Vilma Santos-Recto (6th District, Batangas) with P538.8 million, and Rep. Antonio Floirendo Jr. (2nd District, Davao del Norte) with P523.7 million./PN
