BACOLOD City – Mayor Alfredo “Albee” Benitez said he won’t tolerate rude city government employees.
An incident went viral on social media early this week – an enforcer from the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) allegedly shouted at a traffic violator.
Always be polite, Benitez reminded city government frontliners and other employees.
“Kun may ara man gid sala ang driver, there must be a standard nga sundon in terms of handling cases nga amu na,” Benitez said.
Benitez might also call the involved traffic enforcer, now identified as Chris Aragon, to his office for a talk.
Friday morning, Aragon was summoned to the BTAO Office at the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) headquarters. He faced the aggrieved party of Joan Ducay and husband Regie Desuyo.
During the meeting presided by BTAO head Police Major Junji Liba, Aragon said he was ready to settle the matter with Ducay and her husband.
Aragon admitted he did raise his voice during the confrontation.
The traffic enforcer said he called out Desuyo twice as he positioned his public utility jeepney in an intersection.
Liba ordered Aragon to be temporarily transferred to another area of the city after the incident.
Ducay, meanwhile, said she no longer wanted to escalate the issue even further and she was prepared to delete her social media post.
Following the BTAO meeting, Aragon was also called to the office of Councilor Al Espino.
According to Espino, Aragon should have not treated Ducay and Desuyo./PN
