Alert Level 1 for Pavia, San Joaquin pushed

ILOILO – The National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC) recommended to the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) to place under Alert Level 1 the towns of Pavia and San Joaquin.

These municipalities already fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) at least 70 percent of their target population.

Here are the figures:

* Pavia – 33,972 fully vaccinated individuals or 70 percent of its 47,970 target population

* San Joaquin – 31,403 fully vaccinated individuals or 70 percent of its 44,768 target population

“We will wait for the approval,” said Dr. Maria Socorro Colmenares-Quiñon, head of the Iloilo Provincial Health Office (IPHO).

If approved, the number of Iloilo towns under Alert Level 1 would rise to 21.

Iloilo province itself is still under Alert Level 2.

The following towns are already under Alert Level 1 due to  their high vaccination rates and low COVID-19 cases – Zarraga, Batad, Anilao, Balasan, Banate, Barotac Nuevo, Barotac Viejo, Bingawan, Concepcion, Dueñas, Guimbal, Janiuay, Lemery, Mina, Pototan, San Dioniso, Santa Barbara, Tubungan, and New Lucena.

More towns are poised to hit or even exceed their vaccination targets, according to the IPHO. These are the following:

* Calinog – 36,158 fully vaccinated individuals or 69.38 percent of its 52,116 target population

* Sara – 31,362 fully vaccinated individuals or 69.07 percent of its 45,405 target population

* San Miguel – 16,428 fully vaccinated individuals or 68.78 percent of its 23,886 target population

* San Enrique – 20,040 fully vaccinated individuals or 68.50 percent of its 29,256 target population

* Ajuy – 30,590 fully vaccinated individuals or 67.84 percent of its 45,093 target population

* Dingle – 26,444 fully vaccinated individuals or 67.61 percent of its 39,111 target population

* Cabatuan – 34,044 fully vaccinated individuals or 67.52 percent of its 50,418 target population

* Carles – 39,704 fully vaccinated individuals or 67.52 percent of its 58,801 target population

Province-wide (as of April 19), 1,159,074 individuals are now fully vaccinated against COVID-19. This his 69.38 percent of the 1,670,578 target population./PN
