ATHLETE-BEAUTY queen Alexie Mae Brooks has departed for Egypt yesterday to represent the Philippines in the Miss Eco International 2025 pageant later this April, with the aim of bagging the country’s third victory in the environment-themed international competition.
On Instagram, Miss Philippines shared snaps and clips of Brooks at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport looking classy in a nude two-piece Filipiniana suit. She had with her at least three pieces of luggage and waved a small Philippine flag.
“Our Queen is off to conquer Egypt!” the caption read.
In one of the posts, the 24-year-old model and business administration graduate from Iloilo asked her kababayans for support for her upcoming competition.
On Monday, the Miss Universe Philippines organization held a sendoff media conference for the 24-year-old model and business administration graduate from Iloilo, attended by Miss Supranational Philippines 2025 Tarah Valencia.
“Sending off our The Miss Philippines Eco International 2025 @alexie_brooks.official with love, pride, and endless support! Go get that crown, Alexie!” MUPH said in a joint post on Instagram.
Brooks first represented the Philippines as a heptathlete in the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam, in 2022. She then ventured into pageantry and clinched the Miss Iloilo crown in 2024, sending her to the Miss Universe Philippines pageant last year.
She emerged as one of the 10 finalists in the national pageant and received her own title as The Miss Philippines-Eco International after the competition.
Since then, her closest family passed, her “Lola Basing.” She said that she believes her grandmother will now be an angel that will guide her in her journey to the crown.
Brooks has been constantly topping the race for the eco-tourism video on the pageant’s official YouTube channel ahead of the actual competition in Alexandria.
Based on the recent count released on April 7, she has recorded 71,468 views. The United Kingdom’s part-Filipino representative Victoria Repollo Inglis ranked second with 59,786 views.
