Alijis bros yield P450-T ‘shabu’

BACOLOD City – Suspected shabu valued almost half a million pesos was recovered in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Alijis, police said.

The suspected illegal drugs contained in 13 plastic sachets estimated to be worth P450,000 were confiscated from brothers Rogelio Villanueva, 28, and Ricky Villanueva, 48, a police report showed.

The Villanuevas, residents of Alijis, were caught in the sting operation the City Drug Enforcement Unit staged on Friday afternoon in Purok Gaisano. Their names were in the drug watch list of the Bacolod City Police Office.

An undercover officer transacted to buy from them shabu for P1,000.

Aside from the suspected drugs, a hand grenade, a .45-caliber pistol and several bullets were recovered from the Villanuevas.

Detained in the lockup cell of Police Station 7, the suspects were facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act)./PN
