THE failure of the relationship between former celebrity couple Aljur Abrenica and Kylie Padilla was the talk of the public for a while, even dragging actress AJ Raval into the mix.
Aljur and Kylie tied the knot in 2018. Looking back, Aljur realized now that he wasn’t really prepared for marriage at that time.
The couple parted ways in 2021. For a long while, it was a he said-she said between the estranged couple and questions about fidelity were at the core of their separation.
Now, Aljur straight out admitted that yes, he did cheat on Kylie.
“Yeah, totoo naman, totoo naman ‘yun,” revealed Aljur. “On my part, oo. Ina-admit ko ‘yun, may pagkakamali ako.”
He has actually been on both sides of the fence. At some point in his past, he was also cheated on.
“Ang sakit, it’s so painful, sobrang painful. It breaks you,” he recalled. “Naalala ko na parang there’s no life, wala ka ng buhay, hindi ka na magising nang maaga.”
“A part of you dies e, ‘yung worth mo, mawawala,” he added. “It’s just the worst talaga.”
It wasn’t an easier road being the one who cheated, either. Cheating came at a steep price, a lesson that Aljur had to learn the hard way.
“Everything that I, you do is may kapalit,” he realized. “Walang kang takas dun. Wala kang takas.”
One of things that Aljur regrets most with his split with Kylie was not being able to spend as much time with their two sons, Alas Joaquin and Axl Romeo. Thankfully, despite their rocky past, they have now decided to put their kids first and are co-parenting their boys.
“I’m lucky enough to, privileged enough to have kids,” said Aljur. “Kasi mga bata, it teaches you to be a better man.”
Aljur hoped that despite his shortcomings, his kids will know that he strove to do right by them.
He maintained that his separation with Kylie was mutual, and while he still has love for his ex-wife, they are better off as just co-parenting partners.
“Hindi naman siya mawawala [sa puso ko],” said Aljur before. “Isang dekada kami magkasama, part of myself is siya na eh. Hindi ko alam kung paano ko mapu-put into words pero hindi siya mawawala doon.”
With regards to their personal lives, they have gone their separate ways. Kylie was spotted holding hands with a “fellow wanderer” while on a trip to Thailand.
Meanwhile, Aljur has already made his relationship with AJ IG-official, sharing sweet snapshots of them together on Valentine’s Day. AJ likewise shared photos on her own Instagram account.
At this point in his life, Aljur expressed that the love he has within him now is just enough for himself and those he holds dear. (PUSH)
