BACOLOD City – The second year staging of the Chicken Inasal Festival here is all set.
Councilor Cindy Rojas, Inasal Festival chairwoman, said the grilling ceremony on May 25 will start in Araneta Street from Diamond Jubilee Tower towards San Sebastian Street.
According to Rojas, they already received 25 chicken inasal vendors to join the 300-meter long of chicken barbeque grill.
“Last year, we provided a total of 3,000 chickens, but this year, they will add more chickens to occupy the San Sebastian Street,” she said.
The Sangguniang Panlungsod has approved amendments in City Ordinance (CO) No. 482 series of 2009 last 2018 which institutionalized the festival featuring the famous chicken inasal.
Councilor Em Ang meanwhile said the chicken inasal is “Bacolod’s original.”
She stressed that the amendments aim to “establish the ownership” of the chicken inasal, which she referred to as a “cultural heritage” of Bacolod./PN
