IT’S MORE than a year now. Filipinos and people around the world are trying their best to remain calm during this pandemic season.

What is really the truth about this coronavirus? Who are those in authority to determine if an individual has truthful symptoms of this COVID-19 thing?

Gathering for a sip of coffee and smoothie, the oldies came to discuss the “recipe of the day” – the so-called swab tests and vaccines that are now the focus of local governments and politicos. Or so they claim.

“What’s the honest reality about the treatments for COVID-19? Is this a business venture?” asked a golfer. “While the national and local governments are focused on this, there are so many critics.”

“The Cebu governor says she doubts the tests being done by health authorities,” a retired banker pointed out.

The governor seems to have proof on the so-called “false positives”.

Ano ba talaga ang totoo?

The governor won’t be that audacious if she has no strong evidence. Right?

“Lockdowns and curfews adversely affect businesses. To close the business early in the evening is a sure slap on the face of entrepreneurs,” according to a businessman.

Is this the only way to prevent COVID-19? The Chinaman asked the group.

“It is good that the mayor of Iloilo City is doing his best to protect his constituents and we admire him, but how about the other cities? Do they have the political will like this man?” asked the businessman.

In hospitals, is it true that even victims of vehicular accidents are being considered as COVID-19 patients? Why?

Are health authorities doing something fishy?

People’s movements are being restricted. Is this an effective COVID-19 prevention measure?

Some believe police authorities lack common sense in enforcing public discipline.

“People are gathering in big groups. Penalize them,” said the businessman. “Their being hard-headed people affects our businesses…These violators must be punished.”
