Alleged NPA rebel arrested for murder

ILOILO City – An alleged New People’s Army rebel was apprehended by the Negros Occidental police for murder.

The 47-year-old “Jomar” Sr. is reportedly a member of Komiteng-Rehiyon Negros/Cebu, Bohol, and Siquijor and was listed in the Non-Periodic Status Report of Communist Terrorist Group personalities.

The Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company, led by Lieutenant Colonel Alvimar M. Flores, served the arrest warrant against Jomar, a resident of Purok 11, Barangay Asia, Hinobaan, Negros Occidental, at around 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 13.

Hon. Rodney Z. Magbanua, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 61, in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental, issued the warrant on Jan. 9, 2023, with no bail recommended for his temporary liberty.

The suspect is now under the custody of the Candoni Municipal Police Station for proper disposition. No bail has been recommended for his temporary release./PN
