Alleged serial thief busted for illegal firearm in Capiz

CAPIZ – A 37-year-old man was arrested after being caught in possession of an unlicensed firearm along the national highway in Barangay Vizcaya, President Roxas, Capiz.

Police Captain Jobert Delos Reyes, chief of the President Roxas Municipal Police Station, identified the suspect as alias “Allan,” a resident of Block 14, Lot 20, Vizcaya Ville in the said barangay.

According to Delos Reyes, police nabbed Allan on Monday night, August 31, after a local resident reported seeing him carrying a handgun in public. However, following his arrest for the illegal firearm, several victims surfaced at the police station to lodge formal complaints accusing Allan of a series of robberies and thefts in their community.

Police investigation revealed that the suspect allegedly used the proceeds from his robbery activities to purchase illegal drugs for personal use and resale. Authorities further disclosed that Allan is a drug recidivist who previously served jail time for illegal drug charges.

The suspect was detained at President Roxas MPS as criminal complaints for illegal possession of firearms and multiple theft counts are prepared against him./PN
