Almost 80T Guimarasnons fully vaccinated vs COVID

According to the Department of Health – Region 6, 260,264 vaccine doses have been delivered to the island province of Guimaras since 2021.

GUIMARAS – Data from the Department of Health (DOH) Region 6 showed – as of Dec. 27, 2021 – that 79,321 residents here were fully vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

On the other hand, 27,044 Guimarasnons already got their first dose of the vaccine and were waiting for their second dose to be deemed fully vaccinated, too.

The number of unvaccinated Guimarasnons stood at 24,543.

The Guimaras provincial government’ target population for vaccination is 130,908 – 70 percent of its 187,011 total population.

Data from DOH-6 also showed that 260,264 vaccine doses have been delivered to Guimaras since 2021. Here’s the breakdown:

* Sinovac – 99,314

* AstraZeneca – 47,848

* Pfizer – 81,066

* Janssen – 13,000

* Moderna – 19,440

According to Vice Gov. John Edward Gando, effective information dissemination by the provincial government and the municipal governments of Jordan, Buenavista, Nueva Valencia, Sibunag, and San Lorenzo resulted to more Guimarasnons having themselves vaccinated.

“Nag-focus gid kita sa information dissemination sa public. Ginpa-intindi naton ang maayo nga epekto sang vaccine sa ila ikaayong lawas,” said Gando.

As of Jan. 2, 2022 DOH-6 data showed Guimaras with nine active COVID-19 cases and 158 deaths./PN
