Almost half a million Western Visayans vaxxed vs COVID

ILOILO City – Around half a million Western Visayans have already been inoculated with their first dose of the vaccine against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

As of July 11, 481,817 individuals belonging to Priority Group A already received their first dose, a report from the Department of Health (DOH) Region 6 showed.

The figure comprised 9.25 percent of the 5,209,387 masterlisted individuals (18 years old and above) under the first priority group.

Broken down per subcategory, 122,136 were healthcare workers under the A1 Group; 145,433 were senior citizens (A2); 168,388 were persons with comorbidities (A3); 39,741 were economic frontliners (A4); and 2,211 belonged to the indigent population (A5) while there were 4,025 who were under validation.

Meanwhile, 336,245 of those who received their first dose were administered with the CoronaVac (Sinovac) vaccine; 133,653 got AstraZeneca; 10,798 had Pfizer while 1,122 got Gamaleya’s Sputnik V.

So far, 145,697 individuals in the region have complete (two doses) their vaccination./PN
