‘Alone/Together’ earns over P21M on first day

LIZA Soberano and Enrique Gil’s comeback movie since their 2017’s “My Ex and Whys” debuted strong in cinemas on Wednesday.

Producer Black Sheep announced that the LizQuen film “Alone/Together” raked in a total of P21,672,901.58 on its opening day.

Maraming salamat sa lahat ng mga nanood sa unang araw pa lang!!! Lalo sa mga kaibigan kong hindi ko naman pinilit pero Day 1 pa rin nanood,” said Antoinette Jadaone, who wrote and directed the movie.

The movie follows the love story of Christine (Soberano) and Raf (Gil), ex-college sweethearts who meet again during a turning point in their lives.

The trailer shows the couple plotting their shared dreams, only to end up reaching for them separately after Christine ends their relationship. In one scene, Raf appears to be holding a ring box as he pleads to Christine not to leave.

Five years since they first broke up, the two come face to face again, with Raf asking Christine a series of “what-if” questions and surmising how much differently their lives would have unfolded given those scenarios.

The questions put them on the road to rekindling their romance, but their circumstances prohibit it as both are involved with someone else.

Shot partly within the campus of the University of the Philippines in Diliman and in New York, “Alone/Together” marks Soberano and Gil’s fourth big-screen project together. (ABS-CB News)
