ILOILO City – An American national was arrested for threatening a resident of Jaro district, a police report showed.
Lawson David yelled expletives at her and repeatedly punched the door of her car, the 22-year-old Daniel Aegistine Mariya of Barangay San Pedro, Jaro reported to the police.
Mariya told the police she was driving a white Mitsubishi Montero Sport when David, driving a motorcycle, chased her after an incident at the Sen. Benigno Aquino Jr. Avenue – El 98 street intersection in Barangay Taft North, Mandurriao at around 8:10 p.m. on May 26.
Mariya said she was negotiating the intersection when David’s motorcycle swerved. A collision almost occurred but she said she avoided it as she turned left to Megaworld Boulevard.
That David was chasing her prompted her to stop. David drove next to the car and punched its side mirror, and then drove to the driver’s side and punched the door several times, Mariya claimed.
Scared, the complainant called the Mandurriao police station.
Meanwhile, David alighted from his motorcycle and pointed his finger at Mariya while shouting, “I’ll find you! Fuck you! I’ll fucking kill you,” the complainant told the police.
Officers arrived and caught David, a temporary resident of Barangay PHHC Block 17, Mandurriao. He was detained at the district police station.
The damage on the Montero Sport has yet to be determined as of this writing. (April Grace R. Padilla, Intern/PN)
