SAN JOSE, Antique – Among the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Philippines, the University of Antique (UA) was named as Top 3 Best Implementer of Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy (PADS) during the 2024 PADS Innovative Award (national level).
The awarding was held at the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Auditorium in Diliman, Quezon City on May 17.
Representing Western Visayas, UA presented its practices, strategies, projects, and innovations in drug education and prevention program in accordance with the pertinent provisions of Republic Act No. 7722 (Higher Education Act of 1994) and in support to the Executive Order No. 66, s. 2018 which institutionalizes PADS.
Thirty-four entries from the different HEIs in the country, composed of the Top 3 entries from each region, participated in the national level.
Carrying Western Visayas’ name together with UA were Capiz State University (CapSU) and Filamer Christian University.
The Ateneo de Davao University remained as Top 1 in this year’s PADS Innovative Award, while Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology was hailed as Top 2. (Faith Saim, UA)/PN
