“UNLIKE the usual love stories, ours is not love at first sight,” Grace Mondejado-Guyapa says as she remembers how her friendship with Cyrus Guyapa turned into an unexpected love story.
Fifteen years ago, Grace and Cyrus worked in the same company but were assigned in different branches, and it took a year before they met in person. Later Grace was given a task that requires both to regularly communicate. That’s where their friendship started.
At the time each of them was into a different person. “Naging tulay ako sa gusto niya. At the same time siya iyong tulay ko sa gusto kong lalaki,” Grace recalls with a smile.
Their frequent conversions about the persons they were into drew them closer and made them more comfortable with each other. Soon, they realized they were starting to fall for each other. One day, Cyrus decided to court Grace, and they got into a relationship officially in March 2015.
Two years later, Cyrus asked to marry Grace. Just this Feb. 10, they exchanged vows in an intimate church wedding at the San Jose Parish Church, with families – including their proud parents Mr. and Mrs. Felicisimo Guyapa Jr. and Mr. and Mrs. Wilfredo Mondejado – relatives and close friends in attendance.
Grace and Cyrus are very happy that their friendship has blossomed into a love to last a lifetime. Congratulations and best wishes!/PN
