Andagao residential fire leaves P232K damage

KALIBO, Aklan – An estimated P232,000 worth of damage was reported after fire broke out on July 29 in a residential area in Barangay Andagao here, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.

A thick blanket of smoke was spotted billowing from the back portion of the residential building of Diolito Lopez. Three fire trucks of BFP Kalibo respo nded.

The fire razed boardinghouses made of light materials along Abiera Road at around 12:20 p.m.  

No deaths have been reported.

The fire was raised to second alarm for firefighters from neighboring towns to immediately respond to the situation.

Fire trucks from BFP Malinao and Banga, Kalibo Patriots Volunteer Fire Brigade, fire volunteers and emergency rescuers also responded.

Fire Officer I Jan Ryl Magno said the fire also hit an adjacent storage area of electrical supplies.

The fire was placed under control at 1:30 p.m. A fire out was declared at 2:50 p.m.
