
IT may have been difficult for Angel Locsin to accept her fate after suffering from a spinal injury but over some time, she has learned to make the most out of it and embrace her condition.
On her Instagram post where she shared a clip of herself at the gym practicing her kicking skills, she admitted that she used to shrug off body aches and then reminded her followers about the importance of taking a break if their body gives up.
āMy spine injury will always be with me and it took me a while to accept that.
āAs a former athlete who used to believe in āmind over matterā to conquer pain, I realized that pain is sometimes just a reminder that we might be pushing ourselves too hard beyond our limits,ā she wrote.
She then encouraged her followers who are going through the same situation to not give up.
āBut it doesnāt mean that you should stop. Donāt go there. PLEASE. Rest for a while. DONāT EVER rush yourself to recovery and NEVER let pressure hinder your bodyās healing process. Take your time. Donāt ever feel guilty or sorry. And donāt try to over-compensate just to please others. Focus on what you can do. ACCEPT and learn to ADJUST,ā she shared.
āAfter many relapses & tears, despite being told that I CANNOT anymore, this is me doing kicks again š Prolly not the way that I used to, but this is fine for now. Iām doing this carefully this time with the help of my trusted PT and instructors. Still a long way to go.
