BACOLOD City – A robbery suspect was mauled by angry residents for allegedly trying to burglarize a house in Barangay Alijis on Sunday morning, July 9.
Geric Yulo, 27, of Purok Kaingin, Barangay Singcang-Airport, is facing robbery charges and is currently detained at Police Station 7.
Police Station 7 commander Captain Andy Ofalia said Yulo allegedly broke into a house around 5 a.m. but had difficulty leaving. In an attempt to get out, he broke into an adjacent home.
As he tried to get out of the window with his stolen goods, one of the neighbors spotted Yulo and immediately alerted the other residents.
The mauling only stopped when the police arrived.
Recovered from the suspect were a portable sewing machine, lamp, speaker, power bank, two pairs of shoes, a voltage regulator, canned goods, a piggy bank, and a watch.
Police said Yulo had already served prison time at the New Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City for homicide and possession of illegal drugs. (Watchmen Daily Journal)
