Anini-y gets new police station

ANINI-Y, Antique – A newly-built municipal police station was inaugurated on Grande Street, Barangay Poblacion on July 22.

The two-storey standard type B/C building with a total floor area of 288 square meters stood on a 400-square meter lot.

With a budget of P8,652,191.57 the police station’s construction was funded under the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Department of Public Works and Highways’ (DPWH) Convergence Program.

Construction started on Feb. 24, 2020 and was completed on Jan. 6, 2021.

Police Brigadier General Rolando Miranda, Region 6 police director, led the inauguration.

“We need to work closely with local government units para the best public safety services ang ating maibibigay sa ating mga kababayan,” Miranda said.

Also present were DPWH Region 6 director Lea Delfinado, Mayor Maxfil Pollicar and Police Colonel Roy Parena, Antique police director.

Police Major Mark Virgil Ibardolaza, Police Regional Office 6 pastoral officer, officiated the blessing of the building./PN
