Anne Curtis shares breastfeeding journey

TO MARK the World Breastfeeding Week, Anne Curtis took to social media to open up about her breastfeeding journey.

On her Instagram page, the actress remarked that her experience, breastfeeding for the first time, has been filled with unforgettable moments.

The It’s Showtime host gave birth to her first child named Dahlia in March last year.

“17 months of breastfeeding in some pretty random places. It wasn’t easy. I had my struggles, but it’s been an unforgettable first-time journey so far,” Anne shared.

She also opened up about her experience when she started lessening her breastfeeding as her daughter started eating solid foods.

“There’s one thing I wasn’t aware of, that I kinda wish I knew – when I started dropping feeds (when food became her main source of nutrients), my hormones started changing, and I was just very quiet… I didn’t notice until Erwan called me out,” she said.

Anne found out that it’s because of the drop in two hormones that happens if breastfeeding starts to decrease.

“It’s because of a drop of prolactin and oxytocin levels when you start to lessen feeds. Since I am weaning slowly and breastfeeding only two to three times a day na lang, it’s become somewhat a gentle wean that helped me not have such an abrupt shift in hormones,” she said. “I am definitely treasuring every moment of my bf (breastfeeding) journey while it lasts.”(Push)
